So, my 3rd trimester officially began this past Thursday. We visited with the MFM, and at 27w6d Tofurkey is weighing in at a whopping 2lbs 10oz with a heart rate of 146 bpm. I re-consulted with her to ensure that it was OK for me to be back on the Copaxone. She ensured me that the baby will not have any negative results from me being back on it.
Also, I ask that you keep my sister in your thoughts and send her your well wishes. She has a bleeding 'benign' tumor resting on her pituitary glands that she will soon be having surgery to remove. We know that she will be fine after the surgery, but a few extra well wishes never hurt anyone! We recently saw my sister and her family at Chef Mickey's to celebrate Luke's 3rd birthday; you can view the pictures via our online photo gallery (link to the right of the screen).
Here are a few pictures from the MFM visit...........................
He's already leaving footprints on my heart, here is a view of his left one:
In this one, you will see that his eyes are open, and he's smiling:
Here is another view of him turning on his side:
And another:
In this one, you can see his knees and right hand....Poor little guy, he looks all scrunched up in there:
Eyes shut, apparently he's had enough of the technician pushing/poking at my belly:
Of course, here are the shots that his Daddy is most proud of (let me know if you need further explanation!):
Here is what is going on with baby at 28 weeks:
How your baby's growing:By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (
like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
